The Baton Rouge Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation Needs Your Help! We have volunteer opportunities and projects that would benefit from your participation. Please view the list below. If you are interested in volunteering or have ideas for a special event or project, please complete or download the form(s) at the bottom of this page. Volunteering EventsSchool Drive (September – October)We need coordinators to help involve schools in our 11 parish service area. Persons are also needed to help deliver school drive packets. Golf TournamentVolunteers are needed to help with registration of participants, assistance on the golf course, solicitation of prizes and food. Sponsors are also needed. Can Drives (on going)Any interested persons, organizations, groups, businesses, or churches can place donation cans in their facilities or may shake cans to raise money for our Foundation. Donation cans may be checked out from the foundation for this purpose. Work Place Giving (on going)Businesses and agencies in our eleven parish service area are encouraged to hold fundraising drives for the Foundation. Support Groups (on going)There are many support groups designed for all age groups and gender. Quarterly MeetingsThe Foundation holds meetings every 3 months. Sponsorships are welcomed to help with their programming. TutoringVolunteers are asked to provide tutoring to our clients. Often times our clients miss school due to illness and need to have additional educational assistance. Special ActivitiesWe need help with holiday parties, field trips and many other activities.
